In 2008, the AAMDC hosted the Rural Matters! national symposium. The event brought delegates together from across the nation to discuss issues pertaining to rural Canada and set rural priorities. As a result, rural stakeholders were encouraged to take those priorities home and advocate for them.

The Broadband toolkit is designed to assist municipalities explore potential roles in delivering high-speed Internet to rural ratepayers. Potential roles are rated for viability and a subsequent business case is provided, dependant on a municipality's desired level of participation. The toolkit will also provide an approximation of the infrastructure needed to deliver internet service in your municipality.

The Citizen Engagement Toolkit has been developed by the AAMDC and the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association to assist municipalities in engaging their citizens in decision-making. This software-based tool uses guided questions to direct the user to appropriate engagement tools and captures the results in an engagement plan.
