  • Public Input Toolkit
    Developed by Alberta Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Public Input Toolkit provides municipalities with guidelines to determine the appropriate level of public input for various situations. For each level, example situations and an estimated budget to support the activities are provided. As well, a high level process to carry out the different levels of public input is provided.   • Community Dialogue Toolkit
    It is important for any municipality to hear the voices of its citizens to help understand and address any issues they may have.  A community dialogue session can take many forms, but its purpose is to identify issues and opportunities within a community that can ultimately lead to a higher quality of life for its citizens.   • Town Hall Tool

    This tool will help you identify the most sustainable way forward for a project. The purpose of a project may primarily be social, economic or environmental, but it might have impacts or benefits in other areas that have not been considered in other areas. [Go to Checklist]
  • Community Improvement Planning Handbook
  • This handbook, produced by Ontario’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, will help your municipality plan activities that effectively use, reuse and restore lands, buildings and infrastructure. The objective is to continually energize your community through the attainment of environmental, social, cultural and economic benefits achieved from more sustainable growth management and development practices.     This publication, developed by Ontario’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, helps municipalities identify a range of potential financing tools available to support planning and development activities.  It presents a number of municipal financial and planning incentives that encourage redevelopment, revitalization and improvement of existing neighbourhoods of a municipality.
