The City of Wetaskiwin is seeking a technically-oriented building operator with solid problem solving and decision making skills. This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk) and involves flexibility for periodic on-call scheduling. If you possess five to ten years experience as a building operator, believe in high standards for yourself and are able to work with little supervision, then you are the individual we are seeking.

Responsibilities:

• Hands on maintenance of HVAC Systems, Boiler Operations, Fire Alarm Systems & Sprinkler Systems.
• Maintaining / servicing of all plumbing & electrical.  Painting, drywall repairs and any required carpentry.
• Maintaining Traffic Lights, CP Fence line and Playgrounds.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• (Alberta Boilers Safety Association) ABSA Operator B or A Certificate.
• Five years related operating experience, preferably in commercial buildings.
• Solid working knowledge of safety procedures.
• Able to lift substantial weight during the course of a regular day.
• Should possess a valid class 3 driver’s license with air brakes certificate or be willing to obtain.
• Must past a RCMP security clearance check, criminal record check and have a clean drivers abstract.
